CLASSIC ANTIQUES AND FUTURE HEIRLOOMS

Bedside tables have a long history and are as important and useful today as they have ever been. In the Victorian era, these bedroom cabinets were called nightstands and were used to store a chamber pot. As a result, they were also called pot cupboards. With the arrival of indoor plumbing, a single drawer was added above the closed cupboard and came to resemble the piece of furniture we recognise today. You probably won’t want or need to store a chamber pot these days, but you will want a handy place for a few key items within easy reach of the bed – your alarm clock, the book you’re reading, reading glasses, a tumbler of water, your mobile phone, to name just a few! Vintage Side Tables come in many wood finishes, and you will find some French or Victorian bedside cabinets that have beautiful marble tops for a stunning finish. Mix and match these walnut or oak tables with edgy industrial lighting to create an interesting bedroom interior. You’ll find a variety of side tables and cupboards here that can be used next to the bed, and we provide dimensions to make it simple to decide exactly what height is most useful. We offer national delivery on our bedside tables.

Over the last ten years sourcing items items from all over the South West of England and France has become a passion for us and we have built up a broad knowledge of Georgian, Victorian, and mid century furniture. We particularly like French furniture for its ornate style and how it can often compliment almost any interior whether you are going for a more traditional or contemporary, retro look. Victorian and Georgian items also suit many modern Edwardian Chairs and are built with such good craftsmanship and quality timbers that they are of superior quality to lots of modern furniture.

Many of the items we offer for sale are sourced locally and often from local house clearances. This is why we adopted the name 'Kernow' which is Cornish for Cornwall.

We have a keen eye for interior design, Vintage Glassware and hope to be able to provide a design service in the future. We are increasingly aware of the popularity of bohemian, harlequin or mix and match style interiors and because of the sheer volume of furniture we come accross from all spectrums of design believe this is an area in which we can excel. If you have any queries or are looking for some furniture in particular to compliment your interior then please get in touch. We have a simple Contact Us form here or you can give us a call.
